One Park West, Paradise Street Liverpool

A unitized facade has been provided for an eye-catching business and residential complex on Paradise Street in the heart of Liverpool. The building, which is one of the most striking in the entire project, consists of three apartment towers built on a base composed of business premises with a 4-story underground garage below.

The ground floor, or level 1, is comprised of shops, restaurants and offices with apartments above. And following GIG’s capture of an order in February 2006 for the facades of construction phase Site 15, 2007 saw the assignment of the next massive section, involving Site 12.

For GIG Fassaden, this second contract represented one of the biggest orders in company history. It involved an extremely prestigious business and residential project for which GIG was selected to provide the production, delivery and installation of the demanding unitized facades. GIG Fassaden was able to already look back on many years of successful cooperation with the client, Laing O’Rourke, and in the final analysis this teamwork was crucial to the decision to opt for quality and hence GIG.

The complex has been built in the so-called Blue Coat Triangle, bordering on the main business thoroughfares of Lord Street, Church Street, Hanover Street and Strand Street. And the “new” Paradise Street forms the nucleus of the Liverpool city centre, the complete project having involved the construction of over 30 individual buildings, offering a total of some 1.65 million square metres of business, hotel, residential and leisure space.
