SPHERE OF APPLICATION
This data protection guideline applies to all companies of the GIG Company Group which is hereinafter named “GIG” for short. This guideline enters into force on 25.05.2018 and is the minimum standard for processing of personal data.
PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING
GIG processes personal data of business partners, customers and suppliers only for the purpose of fulfilling the business activity and to fulfil any requirements of a legal or contractual nature in connection with this respectively if there is justified interest.
BASICS OF THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
The processing of personal data by GIG is based on strict principles which view the protection and safety of data and the rights of affected parties as of the most valuable asset.
CUSTOMERS, PARTNERS & SUPPLIERS
GIG stores and processes the personal data made available by interested parties, customers, business partners and suppliers to prepare offers and enquiries and to process assignments and fulfil any contractual and legal obligations in connection with this. To fulfil legal obligations, the data is moreover furthered to authorities and public institutions.
The personal data is stored for a period of 30 years after the termination of the contractual relationship in accordance with the valid warranty periods.
APPLICANTS
The contact data made available in the course of an application and application documents are processed by us electronically for the purpose of selecting suitable candidates for employment and furthered to the competent departments.
The data of applicants is stored for a duration of 6 months after a letter of refusal. Longer storage is performed only after previous consent from the applicant.

User can deactivate the use of the DART-cookies by by invoking the data protection provisions of the advertising network and content advertising network of Goole. In accordance with the importance of data protection, GIG decided to appoint a data protection committee. The latter is available to affected parties and the Data Protection Authority as a point of contact and it takes charge of data protection themes within the group.
